Sills sees yellow twice

Tim Sills (pictured) was shown two yellow cards in quick succession this afternoon just after he came on as a substitute for Steve Guinan who appeared to be trouble by a knock to his lower back.

It is not certain why he received the first booking.

A throw in was given to Swindon right in front of their supporters. Sills was close to the action and initally it looked as though he was disputing the linesman's decision. However he was being wound up by the travelling support and may have reacted by pointing to the name on his shirt. Swindon fans had also reminded him that he used to play for Oxford.

Sills disputed the referee's decision and was given a second yellow for dissent.

"I think it was nothing really," commented Simon Travis.

"All through the game you give the ref a bit of banter.

"It's a shame for Sillsy really. It's up to Sillsy really - he's got to walk away after the booking. It's one of those things."

Dean Beckwith has also spoken about the sending off.

"I think he was only having a bit of banter with their fans. He said he never swore at the referee. It was a stupid sending off for the referee to do."

Andy Compton, the Hereford Journal photographer, was close to the incident.

"I had a fairly good view and I thought the referee got it wrong.

"Sills was complaining to the referee in front of the Swindon fans. They were on his back, presumably because of his Oxford United days and started singing 'who are you?' to Sills, Sills turned and pointed at the name on his shirt.

"The referee saw this and booked him!"
