Update from Graham Turner

Graham Turner, the Hereford United manager, gave Trevor Owens, head of sport at BBC Hereford and Worcester, an update on how preparations for the big game on Saturday are proceeding.

The interview took place at Holme Lacy where the squad trained this morning. Here's part of what Turner had to say.

"Halifax have had a brilliant home record this season. Not so good away. They've got one or two useful players - a fair amount of experience.

"We have had them watched. We've got tapes of them. We take a little bit of notice of that but the most important to me is how we perform. How the youngsters handle the situation, how the senior players direct them.

"Our defensive record has been very good this season and if we take that same determination to keep a clean sheet as we've done throughout the season then it's a solid base to work with."

Turner then talked about the support but sounded a note of caution when it was put to him that 6,000 tickets were sold yesterday.

"It's beginning to be exaggerated, It was probably 5,000, which was an incredible number to shift.

"A lot of enquiries from around the country. Even from Leicester supporters who remember the Cup ties against them a few seasons ago and they want to sit amongst the Hereford supporters. So we've got a contingent of converted Leicester supporters for the day.

"Tremendous amount of interest and we're getting to the stage where we think we might be taking ten or eleven thousand."
