Fourth Official Not To Blame For Green Dismissal

Tamworth's Official Website reports that the Fourth Official for the Tamworth - Hereford match was not involved in the decision making for the double dismissal of Graham Ward and Ryan Green.

Emma Whitehouse, a last-minute replacement for the original and fully qualified, told the referee when consulted that she had been marshalling the technical areas after the initial foul so it was the referee and linesmen that made the decision. It has appeared to the watching crowd that it was the intervention of the Fourth Official that led to the dismissals.

The matter of Miss Whitehouse's suitability to act as an official when closely involved with Tamworth has been raised but, whilst it is unusual to have one so closely linked to one club, it is not uncommon to have a local fourth official. Many of the fourth officials at Edgar Street are Bulls supporters and are regularly seen watching matches there when not officiating at a match.
