Bulls face Boro in vital play off clash

Hereford United face a long trip up north for a difficult fixture against Scarborough at the McCain Standium tomorrow. It will be the second time the sides have met this season and United's first chance for a 'double' this season as they beat the Seadogs 1-0 at Edgar Street in September.

"I think it was a fair, comfortable victory (over Forest Green) but I think we've got to improve on that if we are going to take something out of Scarborough; there is plenty of room for improvement," said Graham Turner this morning on BBC Hereford and Worcester.

Scarborough, who boast an unbeaten home record in the Conference this season, suffered a blow to their play off aspirations on Tuesday night when a last minute equaliser gave Leigh R.M.I. a share of the points at Hilton Park. Boss Nicky Henry told BBC Sport after the game that he was dissapointed with his side. "We did not perform. I don't think we were good enough, although we might have got away with it," said Henry. "To concede an equaliser ten seconds from the end was a kick in the teeth."

The Seadog's side has been hit hard by a stomach bug which could see a number of players out of the clash against the Bulls tomorrow afternoon if the bug spreads. Scott Kerr and Paul Foot are already thought likely to miss out. Some of the background staff have also been affected by the virus.

Defender Mark Hotte will miss the game after picking up his fifth booking of the season on Tuesday. Hotte, who had been out of action for a month because of a knee injury, came on as a 53rd minute sub against Leigh but within 20 minutes he was shown the yellow card that keeps him out for the weekend.

Graham Turner is forced to make at least one change to the side that defeated Forest Green Rover. Danny Williams received two stitches on his ankle after a hefty challenge just after half time and will not recover in time for the game. Lee Mills may claim his place in the team back as a result, pushing David Brown out to the wing. Ryan Green won't feature as he still hasn't fully recovered from his hamstring injury.

Other changes will probably be made to the side after United failed to convince in their 2-1 defeat of FGR. The midfield will have to be re-thought and Graham Hyde will be in contention for a recall to the starting eleven.

Last season the game at the 'Theatre of Chips' saw six goals shared equally by the two sides. Hereford managed to fight back, after taking an early lead thanks to Brown, to claim the draw having been 3-1 behind in the game. Hereford will be hoping for a change of fortunes when they visit Scarborough this time. They haven't won in their previous three games at Scarborough.
