Canvey sign Goodwin
Former Hereford United player Scott Goodwin has signed for Canvey Island.
Now 26, Goodwin spent a spell at Hereford United in the 2001/2002 season. During his time at Edgar Street he made 32 appearances and scored three goals.
A midfielder, Scott started out with Coventry City as a trainee and after two years, moved down to Conference side Hednesford Town to gain first team experience in 1999. He was released by Hednesford on their relegation as he didn't want to play in the Dr. Martens League, and signed up for Hereford at the end of May 2001. A battling midfielder who has still got a bright future ahead of him, Scott was a superb acquisition to the Hereford squad of the 2001/2002 season. However, his contract ended at the end of the season and was not renewed, much to the dismay of many Hereford fans. He then joined Kettering Town, and later Gravesend & Northfleet.
