What sort of player does Turner want?

Last week Graham Turner was asked by Trevor Owens of BBC Hereford and Worcester whether he would be looking for a different kind of player for next season.

Turner replied:" No, not particularily, I think that we have taken the pattern of taking young players and working with them and improving them. That will continue. But if you can get one or two experienced players in that's what we have to do.

"I think people will look at us and think we went so close but we are also losing one or two players so I think there will be other sides more favourably thought of than us for next season. But having said that we will be strong enough to have a challenge.

"The season we have just had has led to a lot more financial stability about the club. The gates we had at the end of the season and Paul Parry's departure has meant that we do not have the day to day worries of finance and perhaps given us a little bit more scope to look at players from perhaps higher up than we would normally have done. But I still like the principle of young players with plenty of enthusiasm wanting to improve and want to play in the league.

"And that's what we've had over the last season or two. And the messages I get from supporters is that they have enjoyed watching us play. They have enjoyed the enthusiasm and exuberance of the young players so we will continue basically along that pattern."
