Several players may leave

Although Michael Rose has left Edgar Street, it is by no means certain that he will be the only one. Several players are beleived to have spoken to other clubs, and some others are said to still be shell-shocked by the result of the Aldershot game that they are yet to come to any decision about resigning for the Bulls.

Graham Turner told BBC Hereford and Worcester last Friday that if Hereford had been promoted he thought the whole squad would have stayed at the club, but as that is now not to be, he thinks several players may decide to leave.

"Some players have had interest from league clubs, but others were totally stunned by the events of Monday and want a few more days to take stock before discussing terms.

"I did make all but one of the players who were out of contract and that we wanted to keep offers at the end of February, but they wanted to see how the season panned out. There is a distinct possibility that we are going to lose several players before the start of next season.

"If it happens then I'm sure there will be players ready to come in and take their place. I've reached agreement with Rob Purdie and Danny Carey-Bertram. I would like one or two of the more senior players to re-sign for us but if there are league clubs interested in them then you can't blame them for moving on."

Speaking about the players who has signed new contracts last week Turner said: "Rob Purdie has had a terrific season and he's suited that role just behind the front two. He took a little time to settle down last season and that's what gives me hope about Danny Carey-Bertram. I've seen a lot of players in their first season here adjust very slowly to life in the Conference and in the second year they've blossomed.

"Rob Purdie in his second year has been outstanding so I'm hoping that Bertram will emulate that."
