The inquest

On the field today's game was certainly packed with action. Two red cards, four goals, and an excellent attendance. To be fair Yeovil looked like they deserve to be champions. Their second and third goals were quality, but the scoreline was probably too harsh on the Bulls. There were spells especially in the first part of the second half when Hereford played some good football and were unlucky not to score.

However, for Hereford to lose two players through dismissals did not help. John Grant had not featured in the game before his sending off and had little reason to argue with the referee's decision. There may be more to debate about Tony James' challenge. Although the referee had to act, maybe a yellow card would have been fairer. Hereford boss Graham Turner believes he got good contact on the ball and will study a video before appealing.

After the game Yeovil manager Gary Johnson told BBC Bristol: "It was a fanastic result for us and a very important one as well. We knew it was going to be a passionate affair and it was important to stay professional ourselves.

"If one of our boys had got a booking in that melee, it meant that the referee thought that we were the instigators. It was a fantastic atmosphere, and credit to Hereford they helped to create the atmosphere with their following."

Speaking to BBC Hereford and Worcester, Andy Tretton said: "I felt we did ok in the first half although we were a little disappointed with the goal from a set piece. At the start of the second half, I thought we were superb. We kept the ball and they could not really get at us but we didn't score when we were on top.

"They (Yeovil) look very strong and have got a big squad to cover any injuries or suspensions and they are probably the best side that we have played so good luck to them."
