Brighton & Hove Albion have completed the signing of former Hereford FC loanee George Munday from Cambridge United for an undisclosed fee.
The 19-year-old striker joined Cambridge’s academy at the age of nine and progressed through the ranks before signing his first professional contract last summer.
Munday spent part of last season on loan at Hereford, where he impressed in National League North and helped raise his profile ahead of a move to the Premier League club.
Cambridge United director of football Mark Bonner said Munday’s development and successful loan spell with the Bulls had attracted significant interest, with Brighton meeting the club’s valuation.
Bonner added that the transfer underlined the club’s commitment to developing and trading young talent as part of its long-term sustainability model.
Munday now takes the next step in his career with Brighton, while Cambridge have wished the teenager every success for the future.
