Hereford manager Paul Caddis has been speaking about pre-season, his new players and his hopes for the season which starts tomorrow at Spennymoor.
"I'm not going to sit here and say I've loved every moment of pre-season," Caddis told BBC Hereford and Worcester.
"I always want to win, I want to win, win at all costs.
"We've brought in some good players whom we think can make an impact at our football club and we've retained a lot that if we had announced the ones retained as new signings people would be a lot more excited.
"I think we've built a decent squad. I know there's all the worry that we've lost some key players last year.
"But what I would say is hold opinion for the time being.
"I get that they were big players for us but this time last year they were not because no-one knew who they were and I guarantee a year forward there will be some players that we've brought into the building who, hopefully, will move onto the next level.
"Pre-season can be one of three things. You can be absolutely buzzing with the results, everybody so excited. You can be so negative and worry about the results or you can just be of the mind set let's just get this out of the way.
"I'm sort of in the middle, I want to win as much as I possibly can, I want to build that mentality at the football club, I think I have in the last couple of years, both seasons I've been in charge we've taken it to the very last game of the season.
"I just advise everybody to be patient, we've got a really difficult start.
"It's going to be really difficult, we're up against some really big clubs in terms of their financial power that they've got, full-time, whatever it is.
"We've dealt with all that before, we excelled in it, we've over-achieved.
"I'm committed as I ever have been, I'm in Hereford a lot, I want to do the best I possibly can for my wife and kids.
"Pre-season is finished. Now it's time to get to work."
