Chester have signed midfielder Fin Shrimpton following his release from Scunthorpe United. The 22-year-old adds further depth to Calum McIntyre’s options in central areas, with Jack Bainbridge, Declan Weeks and Iwan Murray already signed up for 2025/26.

The versatile midfielder came through the ranks in Scunthorpe’s youth setup before making his first team debut in August 2021 in the EFL Trophy. Having made four League  and 15 National League appearances, he also played 43 games on loan at Spennymoor Town.

Meanwhile, the club sold 1,652 season tickets during the early bird window - a new record.

Southport have announced Rio Alston has said an initial one-year deal, with an extra year option. Rio will officially become a Southport player once his contract at Accrington Stanley expires on 2nd July.

The 18-year old joins following a successful two years as an Academy scholar at Accrington Stanley, also gaining experience out on loan at NWCFL Premier Division side Longridge Town last season. Manager Neil Danns said Alston is an exciting young winger who fits perfectly into the type of squad he's trying to build.

Winger Jack Stobbs has signed for Curzon AshtonThe 28-year-old joins the club from Buxton, but pent the last few weeks of the season on loan at Northern Premier League club Matlock Town.

Stobbs began his career at Sheffield Wednesday with loan spells at Port Vale and Livingston during his time at the Championship club, following his departure from Sheffield Wednesday in 2020 he joined Grantham Town, before reentering the football league when he joined Oldham Athletic in August 2021.m Another loan move followed, with a trip south to join Torquay United, his loan move made permanent in the summer of 2023 before he joined The Bucks the following year.

National League North newcomers Bedford Town have signed versatile midfielder Lewis Coyle. The 33-year-old arrives at the Eyrie having left Oxford City in the summer. Coyle spent five years at Oxford, making over 200 appearances in the National League, National League South and North.

He arrives at the Eyrie with a wealth of step two experience, having been promoted from it. Manager Lee Bircham said Coyle had had offers from National League sides.
