Experienced midfielder Jimmy Armson has signed a new deal with AFC Telford United, having helped the club regain its National League North status. The Shropshire club said the 35-year-old, who previously played for Nuneaton, Solihull Moors and Brackley Town, his knack for finding the net earned plenty of vital points last season.

They added his calmness in the heat of big contests also more than proved his worth and has recovered from injury which saw him miss their final promotion push. The latest signing means Kevin Wilkin’s squad now sits at 13, with more activity expected in the coming days.

National League South club Salisbury, who reformed after going bust at the same time as Hereford, have announced Kuwaiti businessman Ali Alhamad, through UK-registered Proleague Ltd, will invest in the club — pending FA and National League approval.

The board said it had reached its limits and welcomed Alhamad’s long-term vision focused on sustainable growth and community engagement. Manager Brian Dutton praised outgoing chairman Ian Hammond for his commitment and said the club was ready for a fresh chapter.

Alhamad is a Kuwaiti entrepreneur and technologist, with a background in manufacturing, real estate, blockchain and cryptocurrency. He is also a PhD candidate and Oxford-certified Blockchain Strategist.

Cole Kpekawa, a 29-year-old centre-back, has signed for Bedford Town from Oxford City. The Blackpool-born defender came through QPR’s academy and was capped by England U20s.

His senior career includes stints at Colchester United, Portsmouth, Leyton Orient, Barnsley, St Mirren, Chelmsford City, Hemel Hempstead, Maidenhead, Bromley — as part of the side who gained promotion to the EFL — and Oxford City. Manager Lee Bircham says Kpekawa brings experience and athleticism to bolster the backline.

Chorley have confirmed that midfielder George Horbury will remain with the club for the 2025/26 season. Horbury joined the Magpies in January 2024 from Harrogate Town and made 17 appearances during the second half of the 2023/24 campaign.

Manager Andy Preece praised Horbury's development and fitness since his arrival, noting his potential to contribute further to the team's success. Horbury's continued presence in the squad adds depth to Chorley's midfield options as they prepare for the upcoming season.

Former Hereford keeper Shay Sterry has extended his stay at step five Westfields. The youngster had trained with the first team while being part of the under 18s and played between the sticks for Hereford in their FA Trophy tie in November 2023 - the same day as he turned 17.

Announcing his re-signing, the Hereford club said he put in some fantastic performances for them last season and they were looking forward to his progression continuing.
