Hereford boss Paul Caddis, right, is expecting another tough game |
After Saturday's 2-0 win over Alfreton Town, a win which cemented Hereford in the play-off places, the Hereford gaffer told fans they would have to be patient at Edgar Street on Tuesday evening as the Bucks would likely dominate possession.
Speaking to the media, he said it would be a "really, really tough game" against full-time side with "the best of recovery protocols". In contrast, some of Hereford's part-time players would have been back at work Monday morning for their jobs, such as deliveries.
"We will need to make sure we're rested we will need to make sure we're fresh because they're a real young enthusiastic side with loads of loads of decent patterns," Caddis said.
"I just encourage everyone to be patient on Tuesday night because it'll be a real tough game where they'll probably have a lot of possession because that's how they play - but uh we got a result up there, we won 2-1."
He added: "We've got to take confidence on that, we're on a good run both home and away, but again, it's just another game. We've just got to take each game as it comes and remain really calm."
While Hereford lie fourth with seven wins in the last eight, ninth-placed Buxton have four wins, three losses and a draw - including, most recently, a 1-0 defeat on the road at Curzon Ashton.
After that game, John McGrath was left to lament his side’s inability to find the net, as reported by the Buxton Advertiser.
He said: “There are still 36 points to play for. Now, it's a 12-game season for us. and we'll have to get it right at both ends.
"Internally we know what our target is and we can’t come away from the way we’re playing because it’s what we know and it’s now just about making things right in the final third.
He added: "We’ve been playing now for six or seven months in this division so the boys are getting better each week and it was just naivete today.
"We’ve been playing positive football all season and have got positive young players.”
