To the fans of Hereford FC - 05th November 2024
Today, as I serve the final day of my notice, my time at Hereford FC officially comes to an end, I find myself looking back on a journey that has shaped me in ways I could never have imagined. This club, this community, has been more than just a football team to me - it has been a lifeline, a source of strength, and a place where I found a sense of belonging when I needed it most.
In 2021, I made the difficult decision to move out of my parents home in Wales to persue my education in Hereford. It was a big risk, and whilst I had the unwavering support of my family, it was a completely different situation being on my own. Living independently at 16 without the comfort of close friends or family nearby was challenging. Balancing a full-time education with the need to work and afford rent and food was a constant struggle. In those tough moments, Hereford FC became one of the few constants in my life, something I could look forward to every week.
Growing up I didn't have the luxury of attending football matches regularily. The nearest big club was at least a two hour drive away, making weekly games an unrealistic dream. My experience of football was mostly limited to my local amateur team. When I moved to Hereford and attended my first Hereford FC game everything changed. From that moment I was hooked. The atmosphere, the passion, the connection - it all felt like home. Hereford FC wasn't just a club, it became a central part of my life giving me a sense of purpose and excitement I had never felt before.
Joining the club as a volunteer during Josh Gowling's tenure, I was fortunate to work with some amazing people. I want to give a special mention to Toby Brick whom I had the priviledge of assisting in the media department during the 2021/22 season. His guidance and mentoring were invaluable. I am also deeply thankful to Alex Jenkins who took me under his wing providing the support and opportunities that allowed me to grow into my role. Their belief in me was pivotal as I took on more responsibilities eventually becoming the lead U18's analyst in 2022/23.
Working alongside Zeke Vivian and Jonathan Nash with the Community U18's was an incredible learning experience, balancing this whilst contributing to first team analysis was a challenge I embraced wholeheartedly. Then came the 2023/24 season when Paul Caddis took a chance on me making me the head analyst at just 18 years old. Paul's faith in my abilities was a turning point and I will always be grateful for the trust he placed in me.
Throughout my time at Hereford FC I have seen the relentless dedication of everyone involved in the club. From the players and staff to the volunteers and fans, the committment and passion here are unmatched. I have no doubt that the club will continue to grow and achieve great things in the years to come.
Leaving Hereford FC is not an easy decision but it is time for me to embrace new opportunities. However my heart will always remain with the Bulls. I am proud to have been part of this amazing club and I will continue to support Hereford FC with all my heart.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of my journey. The memories, friendships and experiences I've gained here will stay with me forever. This isn't a goodbye, it's a see you later.
With all my love and gratitude
