It's Ilkeston Town In The Cup On Saturday

Lassana Mendes And Yusifu Ceesay Scored In Hereford's First  FA Cup Game Last Season

It's the start of this season's FA Cup campaign for Hereford FC this coming Saturday.

Once again Hereford join the competition at the second qualifying round stage and have been drawn at home. The visitors are Ilkeston Town.

Tickets for the tie can be purchased in advance. Seated adult tickets cost £19, standing £16.50.

Only two stands will be open for the game. The club has decided not to open the Len Weston stand as it doesn't think the attendance would warrant spending money on staff to steward it. Away supporters have been allocated block D in the main stand.

Last season after a poor run of results at home Hereford defeated Anstey Nomads in their opening cup tie. Manager Paul Caddis spoke about this after last Saturday's game at Spennymoor.

"I think last year our home form for a spell wasn't great then we had the cup game and that ignited us. Then we played Bishop Stortford and then the Trophy and we won and kept three clean sheets.

"We fully respectful of the opponents, we know it's going to be tough.

"They are a level below us but they have got a really good squad. Ilkeston will be a really tough test for us, they'll probably bring a decent number of fans."

With no mid-week game Hereford have trained tonight. So Caddis should be able to see who should be available for selection on Saturday.

"We'll rest up this week, patch up a few bruises and also patch up a few things we need to sort out on the pitch."

Meanwhile it appears that former Ilkeston Town chairman David Hilton is the new significant investor at Matlock Town. Monty Gibson joined Matlock from Hereford yesterday.
