Hereford fans at Banbury last season |
Banbury United's fans will have the final say on whether more tickets should be given to Hereford supporters for the Good Friday fixture.
Last week, Hereford officially asked Banbury for more tickets as the initial allocation was just 400.
These were being offered to season ticket holders but now the allocation could double.
Hereford have said Banbury officials will be writing to their members, (as a ‘members-owned’ club), to ask them to vote on a proposal to increase the Bulls’ allocation to 800 tickets.
"This increased allocation would see visiting supporters housed in areas of the ground normally reserved for home fans, which is why Banbury are writing to their members with an updated proposal," Hereford said in a post on the official club website.
An update is expected on Friday (15 March) and the Bulls thanked Banbury for their "willingness to reconsider the initial allocation provided and look forward to hearing the outcome of the vote".
In a statement on Banbury's website, the club said fans were being asked to vote on:
- Number of away tickets increased to 800.
- Hereford supporters are given the entire Town End and John Nicholls stand.
- Extra fencing is installed between the portaloos in the left-hand corner of the Town End and “Shadder’s Tower”
- Hereford FC to supply their own security for the Town End
In November 2023, the club said the capacity at the Banbury Plant Hire Community Stadium had risen to 3,116 after work was carried out to achieve the ground grading needed for the National League North.
So far this season, according to the Blue and Gold Trust at King's Lynn Town, Banbury's average attendance has been 620.
