Alfreton announce flurry of signings before Edgar Street visit

Alfreton have announced the signing of a new defender, as well as three players extending their deals at the Impact Arena, before visiting Edgar Street tomorrow.

Sixth-placed Alfreton, who are two points above Hereford with a game in hand, said they were delighted to announce the signing of Max Ram from fellow National League North side Gloucester City.

The 23-year-old defender formerly of Wycombe Wanderers and Inverness Caledonian Thistle is a welcome addition to Billy Heath’s side, the club said.

On leaving the relegation-threatened Tigers, three days before Alfreton announced the signing, Ram said: "Enjoyed my time here. Nothing but respect for the fans, the lads, the gaffer and coaching staff.

"Would’ve liked to have helped to get the club out of the current situation but that decision was out of my hands. All the best."

Also on Sunday, the Reds said George Willis has put pen to paper on a new deal that keeps him between the sticks until the end of the 2024/25 season.

In 37 league appearances, Willis has helped the club to 11 clean sheets this season.

Harry Perritt had also agreed terms with the club to keep him at the Impact Arena until the end of the 2024/25 season.

Perritt has played in almost every position this season and has delivered excellent performances in all of them, the club said.

And completing the trio, Nathan Newall has also penned a new deal to keep him with the club until the end of next season. Alfreton said the young left-back has featured 35 times already this season and has proven to be an important part of Billy Heath’s side.
