Former Hereford FC loanee Jak Hickman has had his deal with Stourbridge terminated.
Stourbridge reported earlier last week that this was due to Hickman refusing to play in a FA Trophy 4th Round tie against Guiseley as he wanted to go for a trial at another club without permission.
It's thought that club was Grimsby.
According to Stourbridge owner Andy Bullingham, Hickman called Stourbridge from Grimsby on the day of the tie to tell them he was not going to play against Guiseley.
It's understood Grimsby were looking for cover for Paul Hurst’s side following the departure of Ryan Sears and injury to Michee Efete.
However, as yet, it seems that Hickman hasn't been offered any deal.
