This From Fair Game:
The Conservative MP Tracey Crouch has been leading a comprehensive review into football governance and is due to unveil her findings later today.
The Review will cover all three of Fair Game’s key principles:
· Community: Embedded and structured fan engagement at all clubs
· Integrity: Protecting the pyramid and stopping and repeat of the ESL
· Sustainability: A financial structure that is fairer and more responsible and stopping the likelihood of a repetition of what happened to Bury FC
It is expected to advocate for giving fans the power to stop clubs changing their badge or name or moving the club altogether; stopping a repeat of the ESL; and making sure That the demise of clubs like Bury never happens again.
Niall Couper, CEO of Fair Game, said: “This promises to be a truly momentous day for football. Our heartfelt thanks and praise goes to Tracey Crouch and her panel for all their efforts.
“They have put months of work into this. They have spoken to fans groups up and down the country, they have listened to key stakeholders and led by Tracey Crouch they have produced a roadmap for change.
“For anyone who cares about the game in this country that has to be welcomed.
“It is now for government to reflect, as we will, on the findings and make proposals for how the recommendations are to be implemented. We cannot allow this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to fail.”
