We Just Need That First Win Said Storey

After this afternoon's game at Edgar Street against Spennymoor, which ended 2-0 to the visitors, Hereford forward Miles Storey spoke to the local media.

"I think we started well," said Storey.

"Owen-Evans had a deflected shot which on another day could have gone underneath the keeper.

"But then we've kind of gifted them two goals again.

"The first goal there was only one man in the box, we just haven't defended it very well.

"That's not just the defence, we are a unit, we defend from the front.

"So we had given ourselves a mountain again to climb at half time.

"Second half was better but nothing was really clear cut. We had a couple of headers, a couple of long distance shots but it seemed like we huffed and puffed.

"I'm an ambitious player. Everyone the Gaffer has brought in and the people that are here already are ambitious players. I'd give it all up just to be winning games to be honest.

"I think that will come, second half they didn't get out of their half. I don't have possession stats but it felt like we had the ball the whole time.

"I think if we had scored early we would have given thema real game but it's just not falling for us at the minute. I think when it does we've got quality everywhere.

"You see the substitutions who came on, Ryan did well, we've got good players. It's just a matter of getting that maybe the first goal in the game so we've got something to hold on to. We're all ambitious and want to win games.

"Spennymoor were not too expansive in the second half but I've been told that when a team gets ahead in this league that's what they do. They'll be delighted, it's a long trip for them and they've got three points.

"Really the game was over in the first half. If we had come in at 0-0 maybe a different story and if we had given that performance in the second half maybe we do create our own bit of luck.

"It's a frustrated dressing room in there. We are trying our best but it's not quite coming off. I think it will, it's got to start happening because it's good quality.

"The fans have stuck with us as well which is rare considering we haven't won a game in the first five.

"We'll get there, I'm confident we will, we just need that first win."
