Hereford manager Josh Gowling spoke to the media after this evening's FA Cup victory over Lymington.
He was first asked was it a comfortable victory?
"You kind of think it but I didn't want to say it before the result Saturday but it's probably a bit of a blessing in disguise we got a draw there," said Gowling.
"To come back here and win in front of our fans and get our first win at home going into Leamington on Saturday was what we needed.
"I think you could feel it around the place, there was relief, we were obviously relieved.
"The lads have put in some really good performances but we've probably not taken our chances and given away some goals that we shouldn't have so it was pleasing that we put in a professional performance in tonight.
"We knew we would get a lot of the ball. We went a bit more direct then playing off that and started playing football. Patience.
"Harry (Pinchard) was different class tonight, he got man of the match, his free kick was excellent but he's so strong on the ball and when you find him he keeps hold of it which is pleasing.
"A professional and confident performance. We haven't won at home and to put in a performance like that, not having wins and putting in a performance like that is really pleasing."
Lymington went down to ten men during the first half.
"Even when they were eleven they pretty much didn't get out of their half. Sometimes when teams go down to ten men you think you've got a man extra and your tempo drops and then it can be a bit of a banana skin.
"I was pleased with attitude, we had the same application, the same endeavour and we made the man count which was really pleasing.
"Credit to them they didn't stop for ninety minutes, they've an excellent bunch.
"It's weird one of their staff I was in digs with at Bournemouth, digs with his mum and dad.
"They were excellent all the way through."
Hopefully this momentum will continue on Saturday against Leamington.
"We spoke before the game and I said to the lads it's not going to come easy tonight. We've got to use this as a springboard, as a platform, especially here to get our first win and then go to the Leamington game and get another win.
"We treat this as a league game so for me, for us, we've just got three points and now we're going to go again Saturday and get another three points."
Will Gowling make changes for Saturday?
"We haven't got a massive squad to make wholesale changes so we'll look at things. What I would say is that the lads who have come on has made a case and that's what you want. You want your players who are not playing, not in the starting eleven, to come on and make a case to start and push the eleven.
"We'll look at it, I pick teams based on the opposition so will have a look at that and obviously whose available.
"The big thing for us was that the goals we've been conceeding we've let them happen and tonight we didn't let things happen so we got around things.
"We were 3-0 up at one point and the lads were trying to throw their bodies on the line. That's character.
"We know we're not far off it, we know we're a work in progress but we're playing good football so if we just tighten up in certain areas then we're going to have a very successful season. We did that tonight and we've got to go again on Saturday and do that again."
The two latest loanees both featured, Levi Andoh started and Ollie Hulbert came on in the second half.
"You never know with a under 23 player but Levi has come in tonight and set up a goal, he was assured, he won his first contacts, he covered around well, he has a pace about him and physicality about him.
"Ollie you can see why he got goals last year, his movement is excellent, he's a poacher, it was a poacher's finish.
"Dan's had a big number nine finish and then Ollie has come on and done that, he's probably a little bit more tidy than Dan at times but both of them were excellent all game."
The crowd was a bit lower than expected.
"It was short notice wasn't it. no one expected us to get a replay here.
"But it was just brilliant, you could feel the relief. I think when the third one went in you could feel the relief around the place.
"But they've been brilliant with us the whole time we've been here and they stayed and clapped us off at the end which was brilliant. They've been fanastic all season."
