National North League Southport have voted to end the season.
This from Southport:
'We can also confirm that the club has returned voting submissions in response to the resolutions to determine the outcome of the 2020/21 season.
We have voted in favour of Resolution 1, supporting the position that the decision about whether to end the current National League North and South seasons should be taken only by clubs in these leagues on a one vote per club basis.
The club has also voted in favour of Resolutions 3 and 4 to immediately end the current season, for it to be declared null and void, and for promotion and relegation between the National League and Step 2 to be suspended for the current campaign.
The idea that teams should play without testing thus putting our players, staff and volunteers at risk, or potentially be awarded three points because other clubs cannot afford to test or even play through no fault of their own does not sit right with us.'
