Southport are the visitors to Edgar Street this afternoon and Hereford interim manager Josh Gowling is hoping for a positive result.
In the same game last season the Bulls lost 3-0.
"Southport games are always tough," Gowling told BBC Hereford and Worcester.
"I've watched extensive clips of them and they score goals and they are a good team.
"We are going to have to do our fundamentals well, I think that's the key thing for us.
"Do the fundamentals right and implement our game plan and we'll be fine.
"We'll be looking for a positive result."
Gowling will have new striker Lennel John-Lewis available and also in contention for a starting place is Brad Ash who has returned to Edgar Street from his loan spell at Weston Super Mare.
