In an interview in today's Non-League Paper, former Hereford manager Pete Beadle says he didn't think he would be out of the game for so long.
Beadle is still without a job a year after his sacking at Hereford, but according to the paper 'has had positive interviews'.
The NLP also confirmed that he applied for the Hereford job following Marc Richards' departure, which they first reported three weeks ago.
"Sometimes someone will lose their job and, within three or four days, be in another one," said Beadle.
"It's all about timing and the right job becoming available."
Since his sacking, Beadle has enjoyed family time, tended to his garden and watched plenty of games with his assistant, Steve Jenkins.
But he says he can't imagine life without football and misses the buzz of managing a team.
"It's difficult when you're not in it and you're watching games, you sit there thinking, 'I just want to get back in it," said Beadle.
"The only positive is my garden looks good at the minute!"
