'Frustrated' Richards Says Bulls Need To Be More Ruthless

Hereford could've "killed the game off" had Theo Wharton put his shot away in the 88th minute, according to head coach Marc Richards, but instead they went on to concede in stoppage time.

Hereford were leading FC United of Manchester 2-1 going into five minutes of added time, but Kurt Willoughby's defected shot from free kick earned the hosts a point.

Marc Richards said Hereford were five minutes away from the three points on offer and the result feels like a loss.

"If we were a bit more clinical, a bit more ruthless, then we could've gone 3-1 up," Richards told the press after the game.

"It would've stopped the momentum you saw that was coming in the last 10/15 minutes. It was a deflected free kick with the equaliser but we had a couple of good chances and we just didn't see them off.

"Frustrated, but they're going to take some points off people in the way they play and they're going for it at the moment. We defended well at times in the second half but it's frustrating in that it was the 90th minute when the equaliser went in."

Hereford had taken the lead at Broadhurst Park as Eliot Richards fired his side ahead in the second half, with Mike Symons cancelling out Chris Sharp's opening goal in the 11th minute.

Richards said his players are gutted with the loss, but it's another point.

"We come into every game trying to get those three points and we were five minutes away from getting that today," he added.

"It feels like a loss at the moment if I'm being honest, the lads are absolutely gutted like they would be because they worked their socks off, but it's a point on the road again.

"It's onwards and upwards hopefully with Darlington and Brackley coming up in a short succession."

"Some real positives came out the game. I thought some of the performance levels were pretty good, it's a tough place to come.

"It's a fantastic set up here, a great atmosphere, but it's also a tough place to come and pick up points."
