Hereford FC captain Harvey Smith was pleased with his side's 3-1 victory over FC United in the FA Trophy yesterday afternoon at Edgar Street.
"It's a massive weight off our shoulders," Smith told BN.
"It's been a long time coming and the win is fully deserved and we're all so happy, smiles all around."
What do you think the difference has been?
"Symo coming back into the side has made a difference with his big presence up there.
"There's times when we've been under pressure and we clear it and it sticks now a little bit more and he just takes a bit of the pressure off us whereas before we've cleared it to half-way and they've been coming back and attacking straight away."
FC United scored first.
"A little bit of a mix up in the box,it took a deflection I think, they got a bit lucky as well, it fell nicely for them.
"To be fair to the lads we didn't let it affect us too much, we stayed in it until half time and then we came out firing in the second half.
"Two goals in two goals, you can't ask for anything more than that."
Symons scored the third Hereford goal.
"He's been a massive help since he's come back with his presence up there and his goal today. He deserved man of the match as well."
Asked about his future at Edgar Street, Smith said his loan was up in January.
"We'll have a look at it, see how it's going.
"I'm more than happy to extend it, the way it's going."
Hereford must be a learning curve at present?
"It's so much different to academy football or under 23's.
"When you're playing in front of the fans you're playing for something, it means a lot.
"It's a world of difference, two worlds apart."
