Hereford's under-18s are into the draw for the third qualifying round of the FA Cup as after beating Malvern Town 4-0 at under the lights at Edgar Street last night.
The side's Head Coach Dan Chance knew it was going to be a tough team but the most pleasing thing for him was keeping a clean sheet
"They're a really good side, they're a league below us but they beat the team to get here who are second in our league, Worcester City," Chance said.
"We knew they were going to be tough team, we'd heard they play out from the back which I think they did really well.
"We dropped out and tried to counterattack that a little bit, but the two wingbacks they've got were causing us problems and it took a few alterations from us to change things around and counterattack that a little bit.
"I thought going forward we looked really good in possession, we were causing them problems. But the pleasing thing today was to keep a clean sheet after last week where we conceded some poor goals and make sure we saw the game out."
Chance praised his side for their ability to adapt when Malvern's physical centre-half played up front after half time.
"I think the biggest shock I had was there big, tall centre-half who was dominating at the back in first half and he turned out up front second half," added Chance.
"I started to think 'how are we going to keep with this lad?' but in fairness to the centre-halves they adapted and changed because the other lad playing off them was quick, looking to get in behind them and he again could hold the ball up as well.
"I think the centre-halves and the full-backs dealt really well with the strikers today."
Hereford's fourth goal was scored by Jack Marston from the spot, denying Joe Mellars a great opportunity for a hat-trick after he netted the first two goals.
"I thought it was a clear penalty and then I was quite surprised that Joe Mellars has let Jack (Marston) take the ball off him when Joe could've got a hat-trick. It was a good penalty by Jack.
"The second goal was outstanding for us, we came down the one side, came back in with a pivot in the centre of the pitch, switched play, ball across the box and tapped it in.
"That was brilliant to watch."
