Striker Marlon Jackson has been training with Hereford for a month but only played his first game yesterday after a lengthy wait for International Clearance.
Having not played since being released by Newport County over the summer, Jackson says it's great to be back at Hereford and it's good to be back playing competitive football.
"It's good to be back, it's a massive club here and the fans following are absolutely brilliant, it's great to be back," the 27-year-old said.
"I came and signed up straight away, but waiting for the clearance went on and on and on and we didn't know when it was going to come through. Thankfully it came through last night, they gave me a call and I was buzzing to be able to play finally.
"I've been here four weeks, but I've been waiting that long just to get on the pitch which I finally did today and it felt amazing. With pre-season as well, it's been four or five months since I've played competitive football which is a lot different, it just felt good to be back out there.
"It's been that long without a game and I've got straight back into it, I've had a chance where I nearly scored, created one or two, but the more games and the more minutes my performances will up.
"I like playing right up top as the main striker right through the middle. Obviously today there was two, me and Harry (White) up there, a good partnership."
It's the third spell the former Bristol City player has had at Edgar Street. He played five games for Hereford United in 2009 on loan from City, before returning for the 2012/13 Conference Premier season where he scored seven goals in 25 appearances.
But since Jackson agreed to sign for the Bulls there's been a chance of management. He was brought in by Pete Beadle, but played under interim managers Gareth Davies and Ryan Green today. Then before long, the new management team will be in place under Head of Football Tim Harris.
Jackson says there's now an indecisive period where a new Head Coach is selected and says being signed by one manager and then playing under another has been 'a bit crazy'.
"Last time I was here I did well, I did well, scored quite a few goals and the fans were brilliant then so hopefully they remember that," Jackson added.
"I got a few messages asking if I was coming back when I was waiting for the clearance which was good, and obviously the fans here have always been brilliant so hopefully they'll be behind me.
"It was a bit crazy, I've come in under one manager and didn't get to play, and now we've got the indecision with the new managers coming in. If I did my stuff, I'm sure the new manager will be able to see that whoever comes in, and if I'm scoring goals I'll play either way."
Just like his previous spells at Edgar Street, Jackson emphasised the professional set up of the club, the only difference is it's now part time and not full time.
"I've not played for a long time so right now I just want to get on the pitch, every game play and try score as many goals as I can.
"This is a massive club and it shouldn't be in the league it's in. It should be where it was when I was last here, up through the leagues, so if I can come in and help do that then it will be brilliant.
"I was here before and a lot of the things are the same, obviously we don't train as much as before, but the things they've got like the GPS systems, the protein, the recovery and with the physio he talks to us a lot.
"A lot of clubs at this level you come and train and you go home. It's not like that here, it's a lot more professional which is why I came, it's really a professional club and it will get back there."
