Beadle Sacking: Club Won't Rush Decision Says Watts

The club would like to have the new management team in place by the FA Cup clash with Truro says general manager James Watts.

Pete Beadle was sacked as manager of Hereford FC earlier today, soon followed by Steve Jenkins also leaving the club.

Watts said a decision won't be rushed, and the professionalism of the National League North means the club have to have their 'house in order'.

“We’ve got a cup game and we’d like to do it by then," Watts said.

"But obviously there’s got to be a process, we need to have a look at all the applicants, there has to be first interviews, second interviews and then make a decision from there. We can’t rush into it.

“This is a very professional level the National League North, it’s a lot stronger than the south. We’re competing with big clubs so we need to make sure our house is in order, we can’t rush it but we can’t take too long.

“There’s a realistic timescale of a couple of weeks, but we’ve got to get someone who fits into the structure, someone who links the academy through to the first team. For the business plan going forward to get us into the Football League, we can’t rush that.”

On a final note, Watts was keen to place on record that the club were thankful for the work that Beadle has done, which most notably includes building a squad from scratch, three consecutive championships and a Wembley final.

“The club would like to place on record that we have a lot of respect and we’d like to thank Pete and Steve for everything they’ve done.

"But as part as an ongoing strategy plan that the club have had, the board felt that now is the right time to make the change to push the club forward and to push on towards the play-offs this season and then push for promotion to the Football League in a couple of years."
