Last week it emerged that Hereford had signed goalkeeping coach Rhys Evans as a player, but manager Peter Beadle says it's just a precaution.
Evans had been registered as a player for Hereford during the 2015/16 season but never started between the sticks. Then in October he was snapped up by Southern League West side Wimborne for cover, and there was reportedly interest from higher-division Weymouth.
Beadle told Bulls News: "Having two keepers here you never know. Rhys will still do what he's doing [coaching], and we hope that he won't be needed.
"But obviously it's an extra keeper because last year we had Max [Harris] as well. The year before we signed Rhys, just to put him on a form just in case.
"He's done us a favour and signed the form, but because he signed for Wimborne and played for them, everyone knew about because it was on the Southern League. But it's purely for cover and nothing else."
