The Sooner We Can Agree A Lease Extension For Edgar Street The Better Says Hale

In his match programme notes for last evening's FA Cup replay Hereford FC chairman Jon Hale asked is there any better place to be than at Edgar Street when the Meadow End is in full voice.

His comments come as Herefordshire Council are discussing with the club how long any new lease might run for.

Hale contrasted Edgar Street with Sutton Colefield's ground which the club visited last Saturday.

"With Romulus playing at Sutton Coldfield's ground, it brings home the beauty of being able to call Edgar Street home, with its beautiful old fashioned features brought up to a shine in the past 15 months by our fantastic contractors, staff and volunteers.

"This ground is adored by many a visiting supporter for its history and its appearance and we should always cherish that.

"It gets me every time to see and hear our supporters filling the stands in full voice.

"Even more reason why this club should reside at Edgar Street for many decades to come and the sooner we can agree a lease extension the better.

"Edgar Street is our home, but it is also our fabric."
