In an article on the new Southern League website (link), Pete Beadle has admitted that although his side are one of the favourites to win the league, it won't be easy.
"I think people see that the club took 20,000 fans to Wembley in May for the FA Vase final and think we should be favourites on that back of it," said Beadle.
"The truth is different, it puts extra pressure on us as the crowd, quite rightly, want to see winning football.
"Every side who comes to Edgar Street has that extra ten per cent. We noticed that every week last year and that’s something we have to contend with.
"Most will know the league inside out, we don’t yet. There are some strong teams in the league next season and we’ll be treating every club with massive respect."
Beadle added that he is still on the lookout for extra bodies to bolster the squad.
"We’re always looking. Our business so far has been good and we’re delighted but you never stop looking to improve.
"We want to do well next year, we know we need to keep pushing forward as a club and that’s our aim without question - but we won’t be making bold predictions."
