Hale 'Delighted' with Mills and Haysham's Decision to Stay

Hereford chairman Jon Hale spoke to BBC Hereford and Worcester's Trevor Owens yesterday after the club had announced that John Mills and Pablo Haysham had signed contract extensions for the forthcoming season.

"We've talked a lot about momentum since Wembley and the fact that we've got to carry on all the good things that happened last season into next season," Hale told Owens

"It was really important to get some of these players signed up, and in particular with John (Mills) and Pablo (Haysham) who were both on contract last season, to extend them for this coming season.

"I'm delighted with it."

Owens pointed out that the pair had scored 80+ goals between them last season.

"It wasn't just the goals. It was their influence on and off the pitch as well as their relationship with the supporters and all the players.

"It's important you get those types of players signed back up, and it's a signal of our intentions next season."

The pair signed contracts in October last season, meaning any club wishing to sign them would have to make an official approach. Are their contracts similar to last season?

"Very similar.

"The contract will run to the last game of the season, so it's the same basis."
