HT Report Suggests May 4th For Alvechurch Game

The Hereford Times has reported that the today's postponed game between Alvechurch and Hereford could be played on Wednesday May 4th as opposed to Thursday week April 7th as predicted by BN.

May 4th appears unlikely as firstly it would mean the Midland League asking the FA for an extension to the season. Secondly with the possibility that Hereford could be in the final of the Midland League Cup which is set to be played around May 3rd, it would mean Hereford could be asked to play four games in five days.

As it stands the final game of the season is on April 30th when Hereford are away at Shepshed Dynamo. Then on May 2nd, Hereford play Westfields in the HFA County Cup final. That date won't be moved for a second time.

Following that, if Hereford get through, there will be the Midland League Cup final to play. Originally that was set for May 2nd at Walsall, then the date was changed to May 3rd.

Should that be the case then Hereford could play four games in five days if the Alvechurch game is played on May 4th.

Which would be grossly unfair on Hereford especially as Alvechurch would have from the Saturday to the Wednesday without a game.

Update: The date of Monday April 11th has also been put forward as a possible date. That may be because the Alvechurch keeper is set to be suspended and that suspension could be over by the 11th.
