One of the points discussed at last night's HUST fans forum was the Edgar Street pitch. A question was asked why couldn't the under 18's play their games on it.
"All of last season the pitch wasn't touched," said manager Peter Beadle.
"When I came in and had a meeting with Bish we looked at the pitch. It was in a dreadful state.
"We have to be really cautious with the pitch this year, it has to be a case of as few games as possible. We know we have to play twenty odd league games and a couple of cup games.
"The less it is used this year, the stronger it will be next year.
"I also think to play on the first team pitch should be an honour not just given away to given away to players just because they play for Hereford.
"Had they still been in the FA Youth Cup then that game would have been played at Edgar Street. It would have been a great night for them and a great atmosphere.
"The pitch looks fantastic from the stands but when you walk on it there are a few places where it's not quite right yet, not quite ready.
"The board's position and mine is that we look after it the best we can. There may be a chance for them to play on there towards the end of the season when it's not as vital for us."
