Long Eaton Gave Us A Game Said Beadle

Peter Beadle After The Game
After this afternoon's 1-0 win against Long Eaton, Hereford FC manager Peter Beadle gave his reaction to BN.

"I thought it was a good game," said Beadle.

"I thought they were a good side.

"I thought they played well, mixed their game up which was interesting to see. Nice to see a team that mixes their game up. Happy to play it on the floor but also happy to go a little bit direct.

"They were well organised, fit, they had intelligent players and they gave us a game. It was a tough game.

"I thought for the first twenty minutes when we got the goal we looked quite bright but I think after that I thought we got a little bit flatter and we didn't quite have the same zip certainly as the game wore on.

"But I put that down to the way they played. They played extremely well and gave us a tough game.

"So we were happy to get through the game and keep a clean sheet again which was great.

"We had one moment, a great save from Harvey who has not been called on of late to do much but today he has pulled one out for us and kept us in the game.

"Certainly second half, I don't think apart from one or two times their keeper was hardly troubled.

"We played better today but not as well as we can do but we are in a habit of keeping clean sheets and winning games so that gives us a nice platform to play on."

Hereford now top the League but that was thanks to a great win by Westfields at Heanor.

"Fantastic result for them and hopefully that will kick-start their season. Sean has found it tough to get going and hopefully that will give them a bit of momentum. A great result for them up there.

"It's important for them as they've been on a sticky patch of late and it's good to see them get up and running."

Sol Wheatley started the game but had to be subbed because of a back bad.

"He's tweaked his back. Bit frustrating as he trained on Thursday and he was fine. Whatever he has done between Thursday and today it hasn't helped him.

"A bit of a shame but we'll have to plan without him for a couple of games as I think he needs a rest. We're not going to rush him back but he said he was fit but obviously he's had a recurrence of it so we'll have to be careful with him now."

Back up keeper Daniel Lloyd Weston has left Worcester.

"He's still registered with us but he is injured which is part of the reason they have released him. They didn't want to pay him whilst he was injured.

"I think it's a bit harsh but that's non-league football.

"But I have spoken to him and said once he's fit, come in and get some training done. Let's get him up to speed.

"I don't know whether that means he can come to us that depends on where we are with our budget and whether we can fit him in or not."

Next up for Hereford FC is a HFA cup game against Hinton FC at Edgar Street on Tuesday evening.

"We'll have one or two youngsters out but there are a lot of lads on the bench who need a game, Sirdic, Max, Ben and Tony as long as he's available he'll play.

"Hopefully Purds will play some part in the game, it will be good to get him back out here as well.

"So there will be one or two chances and one or two rested and hopefully it will be a good opportunity to get some bodies on the pitch and give them some minutes."
