The Hereford FC 'Benefactors'

Yesterday Hereford FC published the names of the four 'benefactors' who have each put £50,000 into the club.

They are Mark Blandford, Nigel Edmondson, Mark Ellis and Mike Roberts.

Many supporters will recognize three of the 'benefactors' but Edmondson isn't so well known.

Mark Blandford

Mark Blandford comes from a Herefordshire farming family but has spent much of his life working in the betting industry. He is probably best known for setting up Sportingbet. He worked hard in the background to remove former Hereford United chairman Andy Lonsdale.

Nigel Edmondson is a company director based in Herefordshire.

Mark Ellis (picture from Steve Niblett), along with Martin Churchward, set up M&M clothing in 1987. Before then Ellis had run a sportswear shop in Hereford that had been founded by his grandfather. He was one of the five local businessmen who considered buying the club from Graham Turner in 2001.

Mike Roberts

Mike Roberts is chairman of C F Roberts which is an electrical company. He was a director of Hereford United for several years in the early 90's when Peter Hill was chairman.
