Grayson Quits Football To Look After Wife

Former Bulls striker Neil Grayson has retired from football completely to look after his ill wife.

The 50 year old was still playing for Step 6 side Glapwell FC, scoring on the final day of the season in a 1-0 win, but has now quit all football.

He came to Edgar Street after the first relegation from the Football League in 1997 as a 33 year old for £20,000, scoring 16 goals in 31 games for the club.

Graham Turner was forced to sell him to balance the books in early 1998, moving on to Cheltenham for £15,000. Four years a Whaddon Road was followed by two seasons with Forest Green. He featured in the Conference for Stafford Rangers at the age of 43.
