Westfields Not Wasting Any Time

Westfields manager Sean Edwards has been busy early this summer, signing up eleven players already for the new campaign.

On the day the announcement of Hereford FC's Midland Football League placing was made, Edwards was able to announce that five of his squad had agreed to stay next season including former Bull Craig Jones.

Two days later ex-Bull Marcus Palmer and winger Mike Tambling were also announced as staying, and two new faces were signed in the guises of Defender Jamie Sauntson and midfielder Anthony Robbins. Robbins returned to Westfields from Pegasus Juniors while former Cheltenham youth player Sauntson transferred from 14/15 promotion rivals Walsall Wood having started last season with Evesham in Step 4.

Edwards has also confirmed that defender Phil Glover and player/coach Bobby Aldrich would stay for the coming season having seen their campaigns blighted with injury. Westfields have also recruited former assistant boss Darren Lynch to help Edwards and assistant Nathan Rivers.

With a new three year sponsorship deal with Allpay in the bag, a partnership that has continued since 2006, Edwards will be looking to push harder for the top spots than in the last two seasons having previously finished second in the division in 2012 and 2013.
