Season ticket refunds 'taking time'

Hereford FC chairman Chris Ammonds has said the club are processing partial season ticket refunds for supporters after three games were played away from Edgar Street.

Owing to pitch problems, Hereford were forced to host the home games against Darlington and Chester at Sixways in Worcester, and Scarborough Athletic in Redditch.

When those arrangements were made, the club said season ticket holders would be entitled to a partial refund covering the games that were missed.

While many opted not to apply for a refund to help the club's finances, which would have taken a hit having lost three games at Edgar Street, understandably, some did apply for a refund.

Responding to one fan on X, formerly Twitter, chairman Stig said: "We are sorry it is taking time but the whole process has to be done manually by our small team of staff (who have had a huge amount to arrange of late).

"Unlike a refund for a normal match ticket, it cannot be done via the ticket system using an automated process."

Speaking after the 5-2 win over Chester, Hereford's final home game to be played away from Edgar Street, general manager Jamie Griffiths said: "I fully recognise that you purchased your season ticket in the belief that all league fixtures would be played at Edgar Street.

"The relocation of three ‘home’ matches has understandably been disappointing, and we apologise that these fixtures could not take place at our home ground as planned.

"We are extremely grateful to the vast majority of season ticket holders who have generously chosen to donate the value of their tickets back to the club. Playing three fixtures away from Edgar Street has inevitably resulted in a loss of income across several areas of the business.

"Your kind gesture will make a meaningful difference and is a powerful demonstration of the fantastic support we have.

"Season ticket holders who were unable to attend those fixtures remain entitled to request a refund for the relevant matches if they wish to do so."
