Former Wrexham manager Andy Morrell has been named as the new manager of Conf North side Tamworth on a two and a half year deal.
The 38 year old left the Dragons in February, ending last season as Assistant Manager at Shrewsbury before leaving in the summer following Mickey Mellon's appointment.
The Lambs are three places off the bottom of the Conf North table after picking up a draw in their weekend game with Colwyn Bay, Rob Purdie's only match in charge as caretaker boss.
Prior to the appointment, the rumour swept around Tamworth fans that Graham Turner was about to be appointed as boss. Turner's son, and ex-Bulls midfielder, Mark had two spells as a player at The Lamb.
Meanwhile, a new managerial appointment was made in the Conference yesterday with Nuneaton naming Liam Daish as their new boss.
