Brough Back At Edgar Street Tonight

Former Hereford United player John Brough will be back at Edgar Street this evening but doesn't think he'll know anyone there.

Brough played for the Bulls from November 1994 until the end of the 1997/98 season. He came to Edgar Street from Telford and whilst with the Bulls scored seven goals in 112 apperances. After leaving Hereford he moved to Cheltenham Town.

At present he is manager of Cinderford Town and tonight he brings his side for a game against the Bulls in the Red Insure Cup.

“It’s my first time there as a manager and I’d much rather be going back there with Hereford in the Football League, or Conference,” he told the Gloucester Citizen.

“It’s very sad what has happened to the club and I wish I was returning in different circumstances.

“There won’t be any sentiment because I want to go there and get through to the next round, but it will be sad to see what’s happened to the club and I doubt I’ll know anybody there now.”

Brough knows all about hard times at Hereford.

“One season we didn’t get paid for six or seven weeks and it was a tough period for everyone,” Brough said.

“Credit to Graham Turner for changing things around, but it’s gone rapidly downhill since he left, which is a real shame.”
