Heineken, owners of Herefordshire cider makers Bulmers, have handed the club £10,000.
The money was rumoured to have been handed over yesterday, with the brewing giant confirming the move this morning. A spokesman for the company told the club:
''Our cider business HP Bulmer Ltd has been based in Hereford since it first began in 1887. Many of our colleagues are lifelong Hereford United fans and asked what we could do to help the club in its hour of need.
“Let's hope supporters continue to rally round so that Hereford United can clear this hurdle and focus on the future.''
Dave Preedy has told the club's official site that they are now around £8,000 short of their projected position after the weekend's events.
