News Round-Up

Northampton sacked manager Aidy Boothroyd after they dropped to the foot of the League Two table with a 4-1 home loss to Wycombe. The Cobblers have scored only three goals in their last six games. Former Bulls youth keeper Harvey Rivers has joined Bishops Cleeve on loan from Cheltenham, and scored on his debut with a long kick. The goal came late on in their 4-1 loss to Cinderford.

Dartford have signed free agent forward Ishmail Kamara. The former Barnet man was released from Underhill in the summer after a dislocated shoulder meant he only played once. Kidderminster chairman Mark Serrell says he has no plans to sell the club after former Swindon owner Jed McCrory was rumoured to be seeking a new club, and Serrell was reported to have put his Kidderminster home up for sale.

Yeovil are claimed to be ready to quit their Huish Park home if they fail to get planning permission to build a superstore on training pitches at the site. The application has spent nearly three years in planning hell, with threats to sue the local council if they do not give permission. Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore has called on a total ban on players and managers betting on games. Under current FA rules, players can bet on games in competitions their team is not involved in.

Luton manager John Still has signed a new contract with the club. He will now stay with the Hatters until the summer of 2015, with a years extension added for every promotion he wins with them. Port Vale are the latest club to be reported to be in crisis. A national newspaper today claims that agents of the players have been told their clients won't be paid, with owner Norman Smurfwaite previously saying he had put £1million into the club this season.
