Cherries Look Forward To Visit Of Young Bulls

Bournemouth's Youth team haven't taken part in the FA Youth Cup this season so next Thursday is their first cup game and it's against Hereford United who have already win five games in the competition.

"Because the first team is in the Championship now, we come into the competition at the third round stage," said Shaun Brooks, head of youth at Bournemouth.

"We have come across Hereford already this season and drew at home.

"They scored a late equaliser to deny us the win, so we've got an idea about how they play and they are competitive.

"The FA Youth Cup is a big game for the lads. They get the opportunity to play at the stadium and in front of the first team manager, so there is a lot of excitement around the game."

Yesterday the young Cherries defeated top of the table Exeter by 2-1.

"Because the first team is in the Championship now, we come into the competition at the third round stage, despite the fact we are still a category three academy," explains head of youth Shaun Brooks.
