Keyte Wants Supporters Views On Spending Share Issue Proceeds

Hereford United chairman David Keyte has said he and his fellow directors will be pleased to hear from both shareholders and supporters to discuss how to spend the proceeds of the share issue which was launched last week.

“Whilst we now have a legally approved share issue I feel it is the job of myself and the Board of Directors to begin a broader dialogue with all supporters on where they feel the club needs to be devoting its efforts and resources.

"After all, this share issue will only be a success if enough supporters purchase shares in the required numbers such that we can begin to make some significant investments that will positively impact the club going forward.”

The Chairman went on to add “The best thing I can offer potential investors is complete transparency on how shareholders’ money will be spent -   following an open and thorough consultation with them.”

The board will be available to meet shareholders on Monday October 7th from 2.30pm to 8pm.

Any shareholder unable to visit the club can forward their views by e-mail to the club. Supporters can also e-mail their thoughts to the club.

"Whilst we now have a legally approved share issue, I feel it is the duty of myself and the board of directors to begin a broader dialogue with all supporters on where they feel the club needs to be devoting its efforts and resources," said Keyte as reported by the Official Conference Website.

"After all, this share issue will only be a success if enough supporters purchase shares in the required numbers such that we can begin to make some significant investments that will positively impact the club going forward.

"The best thing I can offer potential investors is complete transparency on how shareholders’ money will be spent -   following an open and thorough consultation with them."

Shareholders were recently given a list of priorities for the board to spend the proceeds of the share issue.

They were £750K for the ends of the ground, £225 to pay off loans for the refurbishment of the supporters club, £75K to improve the fabric of the stadium and £450K towards the Aylestone Park training ground project.

However in Keyte's latest statement he puts the amounts that might be spent in percentages, no doubt because the board feel it is unlikely the total amount that can be raised, £2,820,000, will be raised.

The new figures given bt Keyte are:

60% for the ground

25% for the training ground at Aylestone Park

15%  for the Supporters Club loans.

Keyte also gives a revised figure for the conversion of loans to shares. Originally a figure of up to £660,000 was mentioned. Today he suggests a figure of up to 30% of the 'new enlarged Ordinary Share Capital'. This implies an amount of up to £846,000.

It's not yet known if the 15% for the Supporters Club loans is included in the £846,000 figure.
