It's A Squad Game Says Purdie

Rob Purdie Came On For Kingsley James
After a couple of weeks out of the squad Rob Purdie was back in action yesterday at Cambridge. He came on as a sub early in the second half after Kingsley James picked up an injury.

After the game Keith Hall spoke to Purdie for BBC Hereford and Worcester.

"I'll always say my attitude is 100%, my work rate is 100%," said Purdie.

"That's what I've based my career on and that's got me where I have been in my career.

"The gaffer has to pick 16 players and I wasn't in that 16, that's up to him, that's his decision. Everyone has got a reason for being in or out of the squad.

"I've spoke to him a couple of times about everything and then I was in the squad today and managed to come on and I've got to take my chance when I do.

"It was nothing to do with attitude or committment or anything like that because that's what I've based my career on.

"To be left out is a test for people.

"I've got my place back in the 16 so I'll hopefully keep that place.

"If you are out of the 16 you've got to make sure you're still wishing the lads well, you're still making sure around the training ground you've got a smile on your face because it's a squad game.

"There's 20 players whether you are injuried, whether you are starting, you are part of it."
