The Away End At Cambridge

The Away Stand At Cambridge
Yesterday afternoon at Cambridge, Hereford United supporters were 'housed' in a fairly modern away end the design of which could be a contender for the basis of a new stand to replace the Blackfriars End at Edgar Street.

A stand of this design which is wide but not very deep which leave plenty of room behind it for additional building.

So other than 1200 seats, what else does the Cambridge stand contain?

BN spoke to a senior Cambridge steward.

"Looking at the stand from pitchside from right to left, first there's a complete set of toilets followed by a tea bar.

"In the middle and underneath we have a hospitality suite, then a gym, another tea bar and then another set of toilets."

However spectators have to go around the back of the stand to access the tea bar and toilets, so if the basic design was adopted at Edgar Street there would need to be some changes.

But the idea of a decent gym under the stand is a good one given that the existing area at Edgar Street could then be used for hospitality.
