Davis Happy For West To Get Games

Crewe boss Steve Davis will review Michael West's stay at Edgar Street when the current month loan deal is close to expiry.

The 25 year old had started four straight games for the Bulls before being a second half sub in last night's loss at Nuneaton. Davis is happy for West to get match-fit, with the former Ebbsfleet man completing only one full 90 minute stint after several weeks without regular games.

Davis spoke to Crewe's official site about West and fellow Railwayman Adam Dugdale, who is also out on loan: “It was important that Duggy and Westy went out on loan to play games and that is what they have been able to do.

“We have been keeping tabs on them both. I‘ve spoken to Martin Foyle about Westy. He has managed to score a goal and get game time, although he has been taken off in a few games. It is about him getting minutes on the pitch so he can manage 90 minutes better.

“We will only really assess the situation when their current loans are up. I am sure it is working well for them because they are getting competitive football again but if I feel that the two of them coming back match fit would help us then that would be a decision I would have to make. At the moment, they are feeling the benefit from playing games.”

West is currently eligible to play in Saturday's trip to Halifax and Tuesday's home game with Lincoln before the month long deal expires.
