News Round-Up

Notts County face winding up proceedings from HMRC this morning, but claim they only found out about it on Friday and they are up to date with payments. The court proceedings relate to a payment due in December, with the club insisting they will seek legal action against the taxman for damage to it's reputation. Owner Ray Trew stopped investing in the club last month due to falling attendances and criticism of his regime. Update - the petition has been dismissed.

Southport forward Shaun Whalley has been linked with a move to York according to reports in the Non-League Paper. The 25 year old former Chester and Accrington man has scored five times this season and is out of contract in the summer. Barnet have signed former Scotland international Craig Beattie, subject to international clearance. He was released by St Johnstone last month after a loan move to Notts County fell through as he was unfit.

Kidderminster have signed winger Martin Devaney on a deal until the end of the season. The former Cheltenham man, 32, was a free agent after leaving Tranmere last summer. Forest Green have extended the contract of striker James Norwood until the summer of 2015. The 22 year old former Exeter forward has scored ten goals this term.

Luton are to loan 21 year old forward Adam Watkins to Conf South side Eastleigh until the end of the season. The youth team graduate has played just once in three months for the Hatters since a short loan spell at Kidderminster. Stockport have signed Everton defender Johan Hammar on a months loan. The Swedish u19 international, 18, has made eight appearances for the Toffees' u21 side and was part of the squad sent to Edgar Street for last summer's friendly.
